Created and run by Inus Daneel of our church, this program originally had a two-fold purpose: 1) To make theological education and ordination available to a wide range of people in Zimbabwe who otherwise would not be able to obtain it; and 2) To re-forest Zimbabwe, because so much of the forestation had been decimated for building, cooking, and other needs. There was a large thirst for the theological education, and Inus was able to blend the ideas of indigenous tribes’ beliefs about being responsible for every living thing with the need for tree-planting.
Unfortunately, as the political situation in the country has severely declined over the last few years, it has become extremely dangerous for Inus and all those who live there to continue the work. We continue to support this cause because we know that while Inus is in Zimbabwe (six months of each year), he uses the funds to provide as much help as is humanly possible.
